The HIV/Health Services Program serves as the Central Texas HIV Administrative Agency for the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). In this role, the agency plans for the allocation of funds to meet client needs, disseminates HIV grant funds according to the allocations and comprehensive plan, monitors funding recipients to ensure grant money is being spent correctly, and manages data for all subcontractors. Disseminating grant funds includes developing and sending out Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for HIV funding and then awarding funds to qualified agencies.

The HIV/Health Services Program is also periodically involved in other public health projects as opportunities arise.
