BVCOG Celebrates Earth Day with Month-Long Plant Competition
The Brazos Valley Council of Governments (BVCOG) went green this April by hosting a month-long Earth Day Plant Competition, encouraging staff to connect with nature and celebrate environmental stewardship.
Participants were each given a small tomato plant at the start of the competition and submitted weekly photo updates showcasing their plant’s progress. The competition featured two categories: Best Growth and Most Creative Display, inspiring a mix of impressive gardening efforts and artistic presentations.
After weeks of nurturing and creativity, BVCOG is proud to announce that Rodger placed third overall for his plant’s success and creativity!
“This competition was a fun and meaningful way for our team to celebrate Earth Day all month long,” said Candilyn from BVCOG’s Environmental Management & Planning Program, who organized the event.
BVCOG extends its thanks to all participants and encourages the community to continue celebrating Earth Day every day by supporting sustainable practices at home and work.
Be sure to check out the photos on our Facebook and see everyone's hard work in action!
