How Can We Help You?

Benefits Counseling

Benefits counselors provide information, counseling, assistance and advocacy to people who are over 60 and others who are Medicare-eligible regarding their benefits, entitlements and legal rights.

Long-Term Options Counseling

Long-term Options Counseling serves the purpose of supporting consumers, family members and significant others in their deliberations about their long-term care. We aim to provide information on the full-range of options that leads to the development of an “options plan.” Counselors provide in-depth information about supports and services, the locations of services, potential costs and payment options and assist the consumer to identify preferences and potential resources to meet long-term care needs.

Systems Navigation

ADRC staff will assist individuals with navigating the Health and Human Services system.  and help with understanding and awareness of private and public benefits and assistance in applying for various benefits. This includes Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP – Food Stamps) and local assistance programs, among others.

Programs to Help With Medicare Costs

Medicare Savings Programs and Extra Help with Part D Cost are programs for people with low income and low resources that help pay Medicare out-of-pocket costs. Benefits Counselors can explain the programs, screen for eligibility, and help with the application process for those that qualify.

Information, Referral, and Assistance

We will assist you by learning about your needs and directing you to the appropriate services and support. We can provide immediate assistance on a short-term basis to you in-person and by telephone, including:

  • Exploring service options
  • Identifying services that will address your needs
  • Working with Benefits Counselors to resolve your needs
  • Educating you about various service options

Do you need affordable housing? Are you over the age of 60?

The Brazos Valley Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) serves people who are 60 or older and people of any age with a disability, and their caregivers. We empower people by helping them understand their options and successfully connect them with the services and supports they need.
